Personal update

New team mate hired, he’s starting next week. If he gets his laptop on time.

December was a nice month with some great events like the office Christmas party and some outings with friends. I’ve got two weeks off until next Monday. We’ve got invited to a wedding in China in March and crypto was doing pretty well. Christmas was celebrated with the family.

The Phala network produced an 10k USD windfall due to a bug we’ve found in October. As a result the team was paying out mining rewards to users twice of which we’ve got some share of it. I used that extra money to buy and build a new PC for myself, I sometimes get that itch of assembling a PC.

Savings Rate: December 2023

Cash flow: December 2023

Total Income: 25’908 CHF (+7’986 CHF vs. last month) – Regular salary, plus ~12k CHF Validator income, plus 570 CHF of dividends. If only all future months could be like this…

Total Expenses: 14’168 CHF (+7’500 CHF vs. last month) Well well… the new computer was over 3k CHF (i9 14700KF, 32G RAM, RTX 4090…) then the flights to China another 3k CHF, 2k CHF social security payments on the validator income (I should probably exclude them in the future) and the quarterly housing maintenance and mortgage interest payments of 2.4k CHF.

Savings Rate: 45.31% (vs. 62.79% last month) – Health insurance premiums have not even been paid until 3rd of January.

Net Worth: 1.074M CHF (+47k CHF vs. last month) – Mostly pumped by Bitcoin.

Stock Portfolio

Stock Portfolio value: 102’627 CHF (+1’079 CHF vs. last month)

I didn’t look much at the portfolio in December, was more focused on Crypto. In January I will probably move some sizable amounts into the stock market.

Equity Portfolio

Equity Portfolio value: 80’070 CHF (+0 CHF vs. last month)

Nothing changed on that front

Crypto HODL Portfolio

Current HODL portfolio value: 332’118 CHF (~7.9 BTC / 404 KSM / 4718 DOT / 27k+ PHA) (+32k CHF vs. last month)

I’ve dumped my CRO tokens from the crypto.com credit card and converted them to 0.21 BTC and received 25500 PHA for a found security vulnerability as a bug bounty.
