Personal update
After offering the current company 3 options for my future they ended up choosing number 3, me quitting. First option was to make my time worthwhile and hand me stocks ~1M CHF over the next 3 years, second option was to reduce to 80% but since we’re short on staff already that’s obviously also not an option. So I ended up quitting.
Every closing door has an opening one tho, so I did 2 rounds of interview at a boutique crypto investment fund shop. People seem cool we’ll see how it goes, I’d start in August or September. Pay would be even a bit better at 240k CHF base plus some bonus etc.
The validator venture came to an end as said because the Decentralized Nodes program did not select me anymore in March. So I shutdown all the servers and liquidated my DOT and KSM by turning them into BTC. I’m very close to 9 BTC now which at time of writing are ~700k CHF, safely stored at an undisclosed location (no, I do not have them at home :P).
April itself was astonishingly affordable expenses wise, we didn’t go for any spring vacation as we had them in March and also otherwise were rather frugal.

Total Income: 16’098 CHF – Regular income plus some 352 CHF of dividends. This is sadly the new reality without the validator income.
Total Expenses: 6’117 CHF – No really notheworthy spendings, hence the low amount. 520 CHF for a special .nexus domain, some splurges on dinners, a electric toothbrush replacement, new 10x entry for bouldering
Savings Rate: 62.0% – I take anything above 62% in a heartbeat
Net Worth: 2.09M CHF (+60k CHF vs. last month) – most gains due to crypto going up.

Tesla calls kind of recovered (-4% at time of writing), I have some hopes the stock jumps back above 300$ in early May but might then sell the calls to derisk. Unless they actually launch the robo taxis in June/July in Texas I don’t see a path to 400$ till December given the dropping sales.
Equity Portfolio
Equity Portfolio value: 93’570 CHF (+0 CHF vs. last month)
General assembly didn’t amaze me regarding the revenue numbers which was also a driver to jump ship.
Crypto HODL Portfolio
Current HODL portfolio value: 697’850 CHF (~8.95 BTC) (+64k CHF vs. last month)
DOT and KSM liquidated as announced. Bitcoin Maxi’s ftw.

This specific case was a recruiter reaching out which had another opportunity before which didn’t work out. Original statement was 180k base, I said no and that I’d need 240k (from my current 210k) and then she checked in with them and it was approved.
Title: DevSecOps Engineer with blockchain experience skills: k8s, multi-cloud expert, ci/cd pipelines, rust, etc.
Got my third interview round this week, with the founder.
I personally think it’s a portion of luck and just the solid history of my work experiences.
