Welcome to the Portfolio update of December 2024. The crypto markets are on fire and so are our net worth gains…
Personal update
Finally! We’re done with the production launch of our new architecture at work. The first week after the launch was as predicted still a bit stressful due to the needed fine-tuning of the infrastructure but we finally managed to get things under control and the stress levels are slowly but certainly coming down again. We also have a good candidate in the pipeline for my team.
We’ve went to the circus Knie in November with my family and it was very funny. There was a magician/comedian that made me almost pee my pants due to the constant barrage of slapstick comedy. Then we had some nice weekends with meeting friends and family.
Funnily enough during the above circus event I gave my credit card infos to my wife so she could use Google Pay, half a week later the credit card was blocked and being replaced, might be coincidence, might be not. However this and the fact that Youtube Premium started insisting on a card issued in Turkey (I have both Netflix and YT Premium from Turkey -> Globalization done right…) forced me to start looking for options on how to keep my cheap subscriptions. So I found Ininal a Turkish neo bank that allows to sign up using foreign passports. And so far neither YT nor Netflix complained about the new credit card.
Also the crypto market went complete nuts after the Trump election (Thanks Elon!) which boosted our net worth by almost 250k CHF, that’s the second largest net worth gain since my net worth recordings started in 2021! I hope there’s many more such months to come. I personally believe we might see 100k USD/BTC before the end of this year. And then 1M USD/BTC by 2030.
Personally I got sucked back into Diablo 4 quite a bit, played the current season until it became too repetitive. I’m now looking forward to Path of Exile 2 which will release in early access on December 6th.

Total Income: 18’166 CHF (-687 CHF vs. last month) – Regular salary, ~2.4k CHF from validators, 21 CHF from dividends and 39 CHF from sold stuff. The validator income might go down significantly in the next few months as the Thousand Validator Programme transitioned into the Decentralized Nodes program.
Total Expenses: 7’997 CHF (+3’241 CHF vs. last month) Somewhat “normal” month with a bunch of clothes (669 CHF) and gifts (1092 CHF) on top. Nice was a reimbursement for the German classes from my wife (225 CHF) and the kind of low spending on groceries (1160 CHF). The majority of the gifts spending came from a ring which my wife ordered. (I know the Sankey diagram doesn’t exactly reflect the German class reimbursement but I was too tired to fix that).
Savings Rate: 55.97% (vs. 74.77% last month) – What do you expect with those spendings?
Net Worth: 2.036M CHF (+251k CHF vs. last month) – woohp woohp crossing that 2M CHF line for the first time!

The purchase of PATH and SSTK last month seem to already pay off in a total of 837 USD profit. I will set a stop loss on SSTK and let PATH run a bit.

Equity Portfolio value: 80’070 CHF (+0 CHF vs. last month)
Nothing changed on that front. This position will be growing by ~30k CHF/year.
Crypto HODL Portfolio
Current HODL portfolio value: 771’857 CHF (~8.23 BTC / 574 KSM / 7590 DOT) (+235k CHF vs. last month)
I just kept the existing positions steadily. Since I didn’t manage to get rid of our rather large cash position I will very likely buy more BTC with it.
