Welcome to the rather delayed Portfolio update of November 2022. We’ve went to Mexico at the end of October and are still there for a bit. I simply didn’t find time/motivation to do the accounting.
Personal update
As negotiated with my new bosses I’ve got a month off in Mexico to travel there with my family and my parents to show them the country. We’ve flew directly to Guadalajara, then by car to the beach for a week and from there to: Colima, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Queretaro, San Miguel de Allende. All very nice cities.
There was a somewhat unexplainable Phala rally in the second half of October which boosted the joint venture income from me & my friend to 16k CHF (each). The November income should also in the low 10k CHF range.
Due to that cashflow I’m currently pretty liquid, funnily enough the invoice for the FTTH connection still didn’t arrive.

Total Income: 38’384 CHF (+13’677 CHF vs. last month) – Regular salary (~18k CHF) plus Kusama/Polkadot Validator income (2’059 CHF) and the jucy Phala validator joint venture (16’656 CHF). Very very nice, mostly thanks to the PHA price boost at the end of October and our DCA strategy (we’ve sold the rewards 3 times in October).
Total Expenses: 11’713 CHF (+4’436 CHF vs. last month) validator spending hit hard with 3.4k CHF this month however this should cover the November costs too. I’ve bought the new Pixel 7 Pro which unfortunately didn’t make it from France to me before the vacation. Then some cash expenses and accumulated Health invoices from my wife were heavy positions this month.
Savings Rate: 69.48% (-0.31 vs. last month) – 69 nice! I expect it to stay around that number for the next few months.
Net Worth: 938k CHF (+63k CHF vs. last month) – Nice growth, mostly driven by the amazing income and the stock market recovery (around 10%).

In October I’ve fully paid back the 10k CHF remaining margin loan that I’ve used to pay this years taxes. I will invest much more aggressively again in the upcoming month as the cash reserves are currently a bit too high for my taste.
Crypto HODL Portfolio
Current HODL portfolio value: 167’142 CHF (~6.7 BTC / 161 KSM / 1237 DOT / 92100 CRO / 2.2k+ PHA) (+11’722 CHF vs. last month)
The goal is to start accumulating BTC again in the upcoming months. The Polkadot validator performed amazingly well this month, must have been related to some changes in the 1KV backend.
