Just a quick random update after almost a year of exodus. I’m still alive, here’s a bullet pointed list of the past ~12 months.
- Quit that last job within 3 months due to the boss being very toxic (after me, 4 others quit in a rather quick succession)
- Was unemployed for 3 months
- Went to a very strange business trip for another job opportunity where everything was paid including business class flights, chauffeur service and 5-star hotel, no idea if the whole thing was legit, felt more like a FBI/CIA interrogation
- Found a new job where I got promoted within two months
- Dumped all my VT for a more CHF centric asset allocation due to fears of AI/SPCX bubble burst (also FOMO’d into SPCX)
- Loaded up on more BTC in July (turned out to be a good decision)
- Been to Cancun, Prague, Montenegro, Venice and Gran Canaria
- Tried to buy a new apartment for 1.75M CHF but bank told me my 215k CHF income is too low to afford it, which made me…
- starting two new side-hustles (a new AI/blockchain server thing which is quite cash intense and some website project) should net anywhere from 2-10k CHF extra per month.
- Got to a point where with all these AI models I’m looking to move out of IT security and back to DevOps/SRE (defenders are still lagging behind and we have like daily incidents due to attacks at the new job)
